Who’s The Fairest Of Them All…

IMG_1185 - Version 2

the cat of course, as everyone who has ever lived with a cat knows. This is TOFU (This One’s For You), she’s a pedigreed British Shorthair. The British Shorthair is a very old breed that originated in Great Britain. One of their claims to fame is their coat…it is the densest (more hairs pure square inch) of all the pedigreed cat breeds and their structure…they should be large guys and softly round from every angle. In this picture, Tofu has tilted her ears back so they don’t look as rounded on the tips as they really are. Tofu is a great example of a female Brit. I know this because I bred and exhibited Brits for 15 years before I retired about 5 years ago.

I love the breed as did Lewis Carroll when he fashioned the Cheshire Cat in Alice In Wonderland after the breed. Brits are also somewhat notorious for their role in Stephen King’s horror movie Pet Sematary. The cat in Pet Semetary is named Winston Churchill but his nickname is Church. Here’s a link to the trailer for Pet Sematary,  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMja9C6Htts The cats (there were several) that played Church in the movie were trained by Scott and Thora Hart. Thora and I worked together breeding British Shorthairs for most of the 15 years that I bred Brits. I thank her for all she did for me and my breeding program.

When Is A Ticket Not A Ticket…

When It’s A Tree

Ticket Christmas Tree

I was looking at the ticket punch and wondering what you could do with that tiny little ticket. I started punching tickets out of scrapes of silver glimmer paper…the tickets looked like little bricks. From there I tried to build a wall using the traditional brick pattern…it was OK…but this tree is better. I used Whisper White for the card and the first layer, then a little border of Gumball Green around the Cherry Cobbler…built the tree and topped it with a star. The Merry Christmas is from the Come to Bethlehem Stamp Set.

Very graphic and simple!
